Who We Are

We are believers who evangelize people on the Internet for God’s glory and to expend His Kingdom by providing unique resources, such as iPrayer Cafe. We affirm the apostles’ creed.

The initial idea of our ministry — reach out and touch people (especially young Internet generation) was conceived in 2007. In 2012, five church members from Westgate Church, Weston, MA, Grace Chapel, Lexington, MA, El Segundo United Methodist Church, El Segundo, CA agreed to further develop and implement the initial idea. In 2013, three MIT students and one UC Berkeley student (we call “the innovation team”) and the above five believing members (we call “the support team”) had a series of retreats to conceptualize and design a unique ministry on the Internet, and named “Open iChurch.”

During 2014 and 2015, a markup and prototyping efforts in conjunction with on-campus survey led to a couple of unique ministry concepts, i.e., iPrayer Cafe (a micro/local-community prayer ministry), iGather (an interactive on-line Christian fellowship and Bible study) and iLounge (a seeker friendly on-line interactive place for Christian community).

As of now, iPrayer Cafe has been implemented and deployed to a couple of college campuses in MA and CA. We plan to expand to other colleges in US as well as outside of US. Please feel free to contact us, if you are interested in this prayer ministry.

Most of all, God has also opened a new door for iPrayer Cafe to reach out globally. Praise the Lord! Currently, our prayer team is actively praying for the prayer requests received from all over the world.

We are also looking for believers who want to participate implementation of the latter two exciting and innovative Christian ministries on the Internet. We love to hear from you.

“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold,I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20, ESV)

God’s blessings to you!

In His grace, peace and love,

Faithful Follows of Jesus at Open iChurch
